Threads 8

Cache memory 12 MB

Processor Socket LGA 1151

TDP 95W

Intel Core i7-9700K processor - one of the most efficient Coffee Lake-S chips under the LGA 1151. There are 8 cores / 8 threads clocked at 3.6 GHz (in Turbo Boost mode it can increase up to 4.9 GHz). The manufacturer also provided a two-channel DDR4 RAM memory controller, 12 MB L3 cache and an integrated UHD 630 graphics chip. The Core i7-9700K offers an unlocked multiplier and can be additionally overclocked (a soldered heat exchanger will help in this). The TDP coefficient has been estimated at 95 W. We recommend it to gamers and enthusiasts.

With Overclocking 5.0 GHz it was possible to achieve a voltage of 1.35 V. With a voltage of 1.4 V, the maximum stable clock speed is 5.1 GHz. At a voltage lower than 1.35 V it was not possible to reach 5.0 GHz, and at 1.4 V more than 5.1 GHz was not achievable. Remember that performance depends on the specific art of the processor and everyone can achieve something different. It is worth paying attention to the temperatures in the tests. 9700K, despite 1.4 V and 5.1 GHz, thanks to the radiator (IHS), the temperature of the processor was mastered, which at the factory settings only slightly exceeded 60 degrees Celsius, but when overclocked under normal conditions it did not exceed the limit of 80 degrees Celsius. This allows you to play with the processor even more without worrying about its temperature.

The performance of the Intel Core i7-9700K, despite the lack of Hyper-Threading, is satisfactory, although the tested processor performs much better in computer games than in programs, if we take the Intel Core i9-9900K or Core i7-8700K as a reference. In applications, it sometimes gives way to the six-core i7-8700K, or the results of both units are very similar, although there are also scenarios where it is ahead of the previous generation i7-8700K. It all depends on the implementation of Hyper-Threading. However, let's settle one thing - eight cores will always be more universal than six cores supported by even the best multithreading technique, especially in computer games, which often have frills with active Hyper-Threading. Therefore, the Intel Core i7-9700K seems to be the perfect proposition for gamers looking for uncompromising performance, as it stays very close to the Core i9-9900K, most often setting the Core i7-8700K off by a few frames per second. Overall, single and multi-threaded performance is excellent, especially as reaching 5 GHz proves to be a formality. Of course, we did the results on a decent AiO system, but you will also see similar values on a good air-cooling system. The memory controller, the integrated graphics, the technological process, the instruction package - everything is left as old as it is. Despite this, I consider the Intel Core i7-9700K as a brick-and-mortar hit in gaming sets, as it fills a previously undeveloped niche in the manufacturer's portfolio.

The suggested price for an Intel Core i7-9700K processor is 320 Dollars. If this was the case, I would be inclined to consider the Intel Core i7-9700K as a really profitable unit. For players, it will be a much more advantageous solution than the competitive AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, sold for about 300 dollars, while in the programs it is comparable or slightly better. The fact remains that the Intel Core i7-9700K is a very successful, efficient and more profitable processor than the Core i9-9900K, at least if we look at the suggested price. The Intel Core i7-9700K is definitely one of the best processors up to 300 Dollars.
