Intel Core i9-9900K is a processor with eight cores and supports the Hyper-Threading technique, allowing for simultaneous handling of sixteen threads. Intel has made a nice turn here because until recently such a configuration was reserved for HEDT platforms, including Intel Core i7-7820X and Core i7-6900K. The base clock of the Intel Core i9-9900K is 3600 MHz and you can turn it up to 5000 MHz by breaking even the Core i7-7700K and Core i7-8700K frequencies. The processor also has an unlocked multiplier and a soldered radiator, which seems perfectly prepared for further overclocking. The Intel Core i9-9900K also includes a dual-channel DDR4-2666 memory controller, integrated UHD 630 graphics (1200 MHz).
TDP is 95W.
The Intel Core i9-9900K is undoubtedly a very efficient processor, perfect for utility applications as well as advanced computer games. In the case of applications, it is mainly due to the eight-core design and Hyper-Threading support. However, the fact remains - Intel Core i9-9900K no professional task is difficult. The reviewed processor also owes its great condition in games to the incredibly high clock speed, amounting to 4700-5000 MHz depending on the load, although what is a bit surprising, you can also see considerable benefits from additional computing units. Everything was spiced up with another portion of L1 / L2 / L3 cache. I am glad, however, that the manufacturer used IHS solder, enabling trouble-free overclocking up to 5000 MHz at a completely normal voltage of 1.35V, which allows to maintain good temperatures on home cooling systems (below 80C under load). Unfortunately, the inclusion of AVX in the OCCT program resulted in reaching the limit of 90C, which is the biggest (apart from the price) downside of this processor. There are no drops in the clock speed below the declared Turbo Boost, which is a plus for Intel. The rest remained unchanged from their predecessors (memory controller, iGPU, PCI-E lines, instructions). It is also worth mentioning that the 9th generation Core does not require new motherboards, it also works on models with Z370 chipsets, which you just need to update the BIOS.
The suggested price for the Intel Core i9-9900K is $ 400. To sum up - the performance of the Intel Core i9-9900K is really impressive and at this price it can compete with the ryzen 7 3700x.
PROS
-Very high single-threaded performance
-Very high multi-thread performance
-Very high clock speed
- Soldered reradiator (IHS)
-Unlocked multiplier makes overclocking easier
-High energy efficiency
CONS
-Hyper-Threading doesn't always help with computer games
-With OCCT with AVX, it can reach 90C
-Continue same architecture, process, iGPU ...
