Processor is a small chip that resides in computers and other electronic devices. Its basic job is to receive input and provide the appropriate output. While this may seem like a simple task, modern processors can handle trillions of calculations per second. There are two major processor manufacturers AMD and Intel.

Processor parameters

Cores processor core performs one task. Each subsequent core in the processor can perform subsequent tasks, so the more cores a processor has, the more efficient the unit is. Processors take advantage of multithreading, which divides the physical cores into virtual cores, called threads, so they can perform more tasks. Currently, six-core processors are standard.

Clock frequency it tells you the number of operations performed by the processor in 1 second.Higher clock speed (expressed in GHz) means faster CPU performance.

Thread is an invention for the operating system in the form of a series of tasks that must be dealt with by the processor. Each program consists of one, several, or even hundreds of threads, and any number of threads can appear in the system.

Power consumption (TDP) this coefficient measures the amount of heat released by the processor, and is expressed in watts. Based on the TDP, computer cooling should be selected, and above all CPU cooling. Processors with a power consumption of over 100 W are designed for very demanding games and for professional applications.

CPU Socket connects the processor (CPU) to the motherboard through a series of pins. The socket type determines the manufacturer and family of the processor that the motherboard can handle. The CPU socket must therefore be fully compatible with the motherboard socket, there are two types of AMD doing AM4 sockets, and some older TR4 and TRX4 models,

the second manufacturer is Intel they make LGA sockets.
